Hopeful Art Event

The Eleanor Green Office organized the hopeful Art event during the spring of 2021. Members of the EGO worked together with volunteers and the Zeeland Climate Coalition to organize an online art exhibition. The Green Office contacted several local institutions like nursing homes, schools and the AZC to create several paintings that had a positive focus on the environment . With this campaign we wanted to raise awareness of the constant need for climate action to build a perspective for a greener future, for which the artworks paint a hopeful vision of how we dream our future to be and show how each of us is responsible to make this dream reality. People who visited the online exhibition could also vote for their favourite painting, and lastly the three pictures with most votes were sent to the municipality of Middelburg, to remind our politicians of the climate crisis we are in and that we have to work together for a greener future.

Lastly, we printed all the paintings made and gifted them to the different institutions that participated including UCR, so each participant could take care of someone else's hope for the planet.

These are the paintings made by the participants.
