Clothing exchange - September 2021

After a semester of no in-person classes or activities, finally, the Covid restrictions were lifted enough for us to organize this year’s first clothing exchange. It seemed like many students have waited for this. We collected bags and bags of clothing, enough for not just this exchange but also one coming month with the Middelburg Library. Visitors entered Elliot and were greeted by some of our board members at our bake sale station. We collected 41€ for the evacuation of Fridays For Future activists from Afghanistan with our bake sale. While the vegan pumpkin pie, made from a pumpkin that grew out of a forgotten compost bag, was our favorite, the UCR students preferred good old vegan brownies. After buying some baked goods, the students would go straight ahead into the EGO room where Lisa, Myrto, and Anna creatively turned a classroom into beautiful shopping (read “exchanging”) space. Once done with looking for treasures, visitors would go into the next room where Litra was hosting their book exchange. We are grateful to everybody who helped and happy that so many found new clothing.
