Fridays For Future Global Climate Strike -25th of September 2021

The 25th of September this year was a big day for all climate supporters world wide. Fridays For Future organised another global climate strike with thousands and thousands attending worldwide. UCR was holding the SDG-week at the same time. During this week, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are put in the spotlight and the world prepares for less than 9 years left to fulfil the SDGs. On Friday the 25th this meant the hoisting of the flag all over the world. UCR hoisted the flag on their main student building and held a couple of speeches at 9 a.m. on the market square. Our very own Academic Manager, Emil Gonzalez spoke among others. After the event we held a tiny march to the station where we left for Utrecht, the host of the dutch climate strike of FFF. In Utrecht, we marched with over 3000 other attendees and screamed for a better future. After the marching FFF had organised speakers from various backgrounds as well as musicians and free food. After a long day of marching and screaming, we had a little leisure time in the city of our Host University and then we all went back on the train together as tired as we were.
